Where to get good CSS/html design?

I've got a few sites that I've been working on but finding reliable CSS/html/javascript coders for the front end is difficult. I need cleanup of a design to make w3 compliant (or close to it) and also find those missing tags, recoding a few poorly done pages, etc. It has been challenging to find reliable people - most are quirkly, unreliable, not skilled as much as they say, etc. Where do you guys go for design work? Going to odesk these days seems almost a total waste of time, unfortunately, as I'm getting lots of Indian firms - reps who outsource or project manage work to people you don't really interview and it turns out to be a waste of time 9 out of 10 times - at least my experience. How about you guys?
#css or html #design #good

Honestly, I just do most of it myself. Ive had bad experiences with indian companies also. Try hiring someone from onlinejobs.ph, or just pm me and I will hook you up!

Thanks man - would love to PM you but apparently I can't do so since they raised the total posts to 50 (meaning I'd have to make 20 or so crappy posts to qualify just to pm you!) However, I CAN receive PMs if you can send these and your own details. Many thanks.

If you use firefox get firebug, or for explorer, developers toolbar.
these will help you to see what tags are missing, and help with CSS etc.
It is a nightmare making sites compatible across different browsers, sometimes you can spend hours for the sake of a pixel, but the tools mentioned above are a godsend.

Paul - Thanks but I'm not interested in building 200 small sites. I have a handful of very good, larger sites. My main one consists of about 8 scripts and lots of stuff going on. Modification requires a lot of work, especially getting it so that future work is easy, e.g. getting the footer to be uniform on all areas and controlled by one page you can edit and update. As a result, you end up needing to do some custom work, including when you use some proprietary coding.

Thanks Eddie. Yes, that's a great tip. Problem is that I don't have time to do all this crap myself and, in addition, I also need someone to see what is causing the error and which file it goes. I have set up the site as I mentioned above, so that header/footers are shared across the site in every script. Can sometimes make it a challenge to figure out how to fix the Firebug errors. In addition, some errors need reworking, e.g. if the coding itself wasn't that great to begin with.
