Hey All!

I just picked up a new wordpress theme online I really like but can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the HOME tab. I want to get rid of that page altogether and make the ABOUT Tab the Beginning page.

I tried the support forums on wordpress but not much luck there. I went into Header.php and tried to erase the code but I think this code is different from other peoples codes I've seen.

Anyone know any other ways to do this. Here is my website: SowMarketing (DOTCOM)

Thanks for Your Help.

Michael

You should be able to just go into your admin panel and click "pages", you should see "home" and "about" and be able to check the box and delete.

Yeah that's the way I always have done it but for some reason this one is different and it is built in and not on the pages App.

Thanks tho. If you know anything else let me know.

Can you put your message on the home tab and delete the about tab? They looked like the left hand column didn't change. Sorry I can't help you - I thought you should be able to go into the admin panel and change it, too.

Is this a free template? Might be some instructions where you picked it up. If it's something you paid for, the seller ought to provide direction and also take off the link at the bottom. Good luck and if you figure it out, come back and let us know in case somebody else has the same problem.

    ======

I found your theme and tried it on one of my sites. It automatically put my stuff onto the main page, and my "about" page is untouched. I see what you mean about the main page not showing up. I don't think you can change it, or at least I don't see how. However, you should be able to put your stuff from "about" to the main page and then delete the "about" page. I haven't tried adding a second page to see if that makes it possible to delete the home page.

I can't find the Home page at all. Yeah it was a free template from themesjunction. I checked there website and they have no instructions about this theme. I may just have to switch themes. I never came across this issue before.

I followed the link at the bottom of your site, and it took me about 3 clicks to find the free themes, and yours was on page 5, if memory serves.

I don't understand, though, why you can't just put your stuff on the home page ... it's exactly like the "about" page as far as I can tell.

I actually think it looks pretty cool ... I might use it for awhile. It's on a site I haven't decided what to do with yet.

You can make your "Home" page static by making the "About" page your actual front page by doing the following:

In your Dashboard, go to "Settings" > "Reading" > under "Front Page Displays" select "A static page" and then click on the down arrow and select "About". > SAVE the changes > refresh your page > view the site to confirm that the changes were made.

Try this method first and see if it works. If it doesn't I may have another way to work around it.

    Good luck!
