How Do i embed a video to my wordpress home page?

Hi Warriors,

Can anybody guide me on how to embed a video on my wordpress home page. I have the code for the video and inserted it via my wordpress cpanel but nothing happened. Am i missing code?

    From your word press admin, go to your home page. Make sure you are in the HTML view and just paste in your code.

    Easiest way is to upload video to YouTube then copy 'embed code' from YouTube video to website and adjust size of video as appropriate. Hope this helps.

    using wp video embed plugins? or if u host the video on ur own host, u can use flv embeded video player, but the most important things that, only flv file u can embeded using such plugins.

    The problem with embedding your own video is that you've got to make sure it plays across all platforms...

    If you absolutely don't need to host it yourself, I suggest going to Vimeo (youtube really sucks for control - Vimeo gives you a lot more freedom).

    Upload it on vimeo or youtube. For youtube, you have smart youtube plugin by Vladimir Prelovac, it will be even xhtml valid, and you can put it in your posts, sidebar, wherever you want.

      I have tried putting the code in the index.php and sidebar.php through my wordpress cpanel. Then i followed some other advice and downloaded a video plugin and inserted it that way. All was hunky dory i thought but then a friend pointed out to me that the site was all blown up when viewed with IE but was fine in Firefox.
      I would like to get the video in my sidebar...any advice?
