Search for "Royalty Free Stock Images" and you should find some sites.

Also, if you look up "Flickr Creative Commons 2.0" there are 1000's of pictures, maybe 100's of 1000's.

Another great site is deviantart.com. just browse to the stock photography section.

It is very true that you need to be careful when you use art, and make sure it is safe and OK to use. You need the owner's permission if you are not using art that is OK to use personally or commercially.

I have some good sites and links listed at my page, Free Clipart and Photo Sites. I hope you like it!

Another great source is Flickr, (always check the copyright there too, and search for images in the Creative Commons section) and also Morguefile. Also, it is a good idea to always include a link back to the source on your page or blog so others also know you use the art or clipart correctly.

      Hi,

I like to add images to my work, at least one image per page to help break it up and make it look more interesting. I have and use images from a folder of such royalty free collective common images. (If you want some on a particular topic, let me know, and I will see what I have).

However I do not have any such images for the subject I am working from just now. The subject is weddings. Now this is proving more difficult that what I first thought, and I am very concerned about copyright.

I did try morgueFile free photos for creatives by creatives and was very surprised.

      Their licence states

      You are free:
      • Remix -- to adapt the work.
      • Commercial -- to use this work for commercial purposes.
      • Without Attribution -- to use without attributing the original author.
      Not bad for free.

Does anybody have any other such sites to mention?

I have tried Creative Commons and at first it appears great, especially with the words "I want something that I can... use for commercial purposes modify, adapt, or build upon" at the very top.

BUT be careful, every image comes with the words "This image may be subject to copyright." so what is free to use and what is not, is certainly not clear; and you can bet the image you want has an expensive royalty to pay.

The site, I think is power by google, and google being their helpful selves suggests you contact the owner, but again this is not clear and if it is it will very time consuming. It is simply a cop out phrase from Google to protect google, so be careful.

      Gordon.
