Hosting Multiple Sites

I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere on this forum, however, I couldn't see anything obvious.

We have a VDS from Servint which hosts our main site. However, we are now looking to host many sites - probably around 100 niche sites, all simple 5 page static html.

Would there be anything wrong with just setting them up in subfolders on the vds?

Most of the info we read online seems to point to having a reseller account and setting up each site in it's own account. If we did this, does that mean we would need to pay for each hosted site? Almost like charging ourselves?

My thought were that if we already have a VDS, then can we just use that? Plenty of space and bandwidth + saves having to fork our for another server.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Don't know which plan you're on from Servint, but they all offer cPanel/WHM. WHM is the server management part of cPanel. That is where you'll set up new accounts for your new domains.

Check Servint support for more information.

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

I checked with their support and there would be no probs with doing this.

My only concern would be a 'google slap' as the sites will be niche adsense type sites and therefore having them all on the one box leaves quite a large footprint.

Anyone have any views on this? Worth worrying about?

No, you will only pay for the actual reseller account.
