How to Put a Front Door Page on a Forum?

Hi guys... Could you guys give me some advice please...(step-by-step instruction would be great!) on how to go about putting up a front door (so to speak) page on a forum (with "enter here") ahead of the log-in page, so no usernames or post titles, categories, etc. are visible immediately upon a visit by someone to the url? It's my 1st forum, so I'm new to this, it's a SMF theme but I haven't yet loaded Webinstall (learning FTP right now) nor has the forum package been loaded yet either because I'm not sure what to do to get a front page on there first. (or does it matter & I can do the front page bit later?) Thanks, I'd really appreciate your help.

    If the page is just going to be a splash page without forum data then it can be anything, even a plain HTML page.

    Just put all of your forum files in its own directory like
    Your-siteDOTcom/forum/

    And the splash page
    Your-siteDOTcom/index.html
