  • I think you could use this, https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&...-intro-outside, read it through, it should be just inserting some code in html where you want the button to appear.

    • Hi Benjo!
      Follow this procedure:
in your paypal account go to "Merchant Services" then look for "create buttons" and select "buy now".
When you click on "buy now" it will appear a screen with 3 steps;you will need to complete all the 3 steps but more important are step 1 and 3.
With regard to your question, click on step 3(Customize advanced features) then customize checkout pages and follow the instructions.
You will see at the end these 2 written:

-Take customers to this URL when they cancel their checkout
      &
-Take customers to this URL when they finish checkout(this is the answer to your question!)

well click on the 2 small boxes and enter your details!

Regard "where do i put the file. on the website?" you will need to put the file in a zip folder then put it online on your server with FTP client!

I hope this will help you!

      Good luck!

  • Is what you are actually asking - How do I add a PayPal purchase button for downloadable products?

If that is the question there isn't one.

You are expecting PayPal to interact with your website in some way beyond taking the payment and sending them back to your website.

You have to configure the download part yourself.

So for example your Customer Return Page could contain the link to the download. That is a simple way to do it if you only have one product. If you put the Customer Return Page & the product file in a folder /_private then it won't be publically accessible.

If you have several products you will have to configure a different solution.
  • If your website is WordPress based, you could use the WP-ecommerce plugin. It lets you put in a file to allow people to download the file after payment is complete, and works with Wordpress. I can also help with this option if you'd like. Just send me a PM or contact me at my website in my signature.

    Thanks,
    Lucinda

    Now you have your button!

    • I am unable to PM. Are you able to give me your email address?
  • Log into Paypal and head over to the merchant services tab, then generate a buy-it-now or donate button for your site, whichever you prefer.
