Creating a Roll in and Roll Out Image Effect - How?

Hi,

I wanted to be able to create a sort of rolling in and rolling out effect of a few pictures on my website, something with a similar effect to the images and banners that are in the center of the page (just below the Top navigation) on this site:

Infertility Network UK, IVF, Infertility support, IVF Help

I have looked at the source code on their site but I can't figure it out.

Can anyone direct me to some software or a JS script or something that does this? I would need to be able to adjust the speed it rolls in and out etc.

      Thanks for that.

I don't know anything about flash; however, I did see an option to download a free trial of something to do with flash in coffeecup.com the other day.

I will have to check it out.

Is flash the best way to do that sort of thing?

From what I have seen, people are often warning others from using flash. I have never understood what was so bad about it because I don't know anything about it.

Everybody has an opinion about everything... The best thing to ask yourself is "Why do I want to add this element to the page?" How is it going to encourage visitors to take action?

If you feel it adds value to the page... who gives a crap what other people think about flash.

You might have some good luck finding an effect similar to this without needing Flash. Check out Dynamic Drive: Dynamic Drive DHTML(dynamic html) & JavaScript code library

This website has all kinds of cool effects using Javascript. They have instructions on how to install them as well. Hope that helps!
