    You can use Fantastico to install Simple Machines Forum, and there are lots of free themes on the SMF website at Home of SMF: Free PHP and MySQL forum software - you can search all the themes on the site, and then upload the one you want through your admin area.

    Fantastico is an automatic script installer, and it installs all sorts of scripts like wordpress, zencart etc. It will install the simple machines forum script without you having to create datbases etc.. and it will tell you the url of your installed forum, and the admin url.

    The only other thing you'll need to do is set up your categories and boards. For example, if you look at the home page of the Warrior Forum, there is Warrior Forum and several sub-boards, then there is Warrior Support Forum, and sub-boards there too. You'll have to choose your boards and sub-boards, but once you've done that, it's good to go.

    A couple of suggestions, you may want to look for a free theme to make it look a bit prettier, the out-of-the-box theme is a bit bland. Have a look on the SMF page here, and search for themes. Home of SMF: Free PHP and MySQL forum software

    Also, install a package (they're like plugins) to make it harder for bots to register and post spam and porn all over your forum. Search for "captcha" on mods.

    You can install themes and packages from your admin panel.
