Wordpress - Can't Log Out?

Hello!

Here's a weird one that I hope someone can shed some light on:

I have a Wordpress site and I cannot seem to "logout" by clicking on the "Logout" button under the META section on the main page. I get an error...like a page not found error or something like that.

I might be logging out...but there is no indication due to the error page and plus, the main page does not return to a view where there is a "LOGIN" button in the META section instead of the "Site Admin" button.

Just wondering if anyone ever had something like this happen.

Maybe I'll just have to replace the Sidebar.php file with a new one.

Any input would be appreciated.

  • This never happened to me before...

    Try reinstalling?

    Or on your dashboard (for "wordpress updates"), click on "re-install automatically".

    • I haven't experienced this using WP. Maybe try to refresh your browser first, and see whether you'll encounter it again or not. You can also close just the window of your browser if you can't log out, then try to log in again. Hope this helps.

      And yes...I tried different browsers many times over about 5 days...same thing.

      I thought something like this happened to me before...too long ago that I couldn't remember what I did to fix it. I thought, though, that after a while it just went away. This is why I didn't do any real drastic changes or anything yet.

      Funny thing...yesterday...I hit the Logout button and it worked. Everything is fine now and I didn't change anything to fix this so I have no idea what that was.

      In any case, thanks for the input and things are fixed...with no explanation or any real effort.
