lost folders- some advice please

Sorry this may not be the right place to post.

I had the folders for a website on a pc that has just crashed and hadn't backed up to my remote drive.
How can I retrieve them, maybe from filezilla so I can edit in Kompozer?
site is hosted with Hostgator.

    You're saying all the basic files are on your host?

    I believe hostgator has the same cpanel as I'm used to (on a different host)

    Yes, I believe you should be able to pull the files down with an FTP - but you can also go to your cpanel, go to the file manager, and it will take you into the site where you can select files you want to download.
