Google sandboxing

Can someone give me an authortative answer to a question thats been puzzling me for a while?

My main site has been up for a few months now - its an Amazon affiliate site with nothing but amazon products. All the content is unique as i added all the products one by one and wrote the content myself. The domain name is a keyword and ive optimised it the best i can with keyword research, Google xml plugin, SEO pro.

My site keeps disappearing from Google search - one minute its up then its nowhere to be seen when i do the search on the keyword. There was a time whenit was nowhere to be found when i did the search then it came back and now its gone again and hasnt come back for a while. i just dont get it. I put so much work into this site. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? I cant see any reason for Google to penalise me. Im not using link wheels, duplicate content or anything i can think of they might not like.

Any ideas? is this the sandbox effect?

    • from what i have read, there is no real google sandbox. there is trust factors that get figured into the mix, but not really a sandbox per say. i think i read something here on this forum to that effect (pondering)

u might be just catching a bounce. bounces happend alot. especially if you are on a wp platform. if your site is fairly new, you will see some bouncing around until a final spot is given to you. just keep building links and doing your offsite optimization, with time you will be fine i am sure. if you are confident all of your onsite is fully optimized, try supplementing with ppc until your position is stable.
  • Personally I'd stay away from PPC with Amazon products as the commision is so low you'll struggle making a profit.

What's your site so we can have a quick look?
  • i also want to know this, csmcmanus's answer I think correct, btw what is ur site ? will u share it with us ?

    • Its disappeared yet again - Its annoying http://kidsbatterycars.net
I should say now - ive done a lot of php editing of the wp theme to get it how it is - nothing blackhat in the design or plugins. And i have outsourced work on articles using resources on this forum - nothing extravagant our hogh volume that will ring alarm bells with google

  • If you have a google account -- (get one) -- put your website into Google's WebMasterTools.
You will get LOTS of very helpful information from Google, such as what terms you are ranking for, etc.
I don't know how long your site has been up -- but I've heard from reliable sources that store sites DO bounce around quite a bit during this time of year.

Let me know if that helps!
