Outsourcing wordpress site, what info do they need?

I have made 2 wordpress sites from free existing themes and they were ok but not great. Now I will be outsourcing the customizing/ editing & design from the atahualpa theme. I didn't want to go with a completely custom theme because it is a lot and might not be very seo friendly. What are your thoughts about that? I have just started working with this atahualpa theme and only know as much as the tutorials online have shown me. This is my first time outsourcing and I am still new to IM and I would like to know what I need to give them to make this most successful and what should I expect?

    Hi BradRich,
    When you are outsourcing your design projects it's important to be as thorough as possible.

    Sometimes your designer will provide a "design survey" form with some of the most common questions. Taking the time to fill out something like this would get your project off on the right track and give the designer proper direction for the project.

    Here are a few things that I would like to know if someone commissioned me for a wordpress design:
    1 - What is the demographic for your site? In other words who is the end user and what do you think they would like to see

    2 - How many pages will you need for the site? Do you have opt-in pages or sales pages that need to be setup? Do you need pages for individual categories of your site's topic?

    2a - Along with the setup details, you might also share technical specifications, such as plug-ins you want installed and sidebar layout.

    3 - Do you have any examples? Provide links to other wordpress sites that are similar to the style you need or niche you are working in.

    4 - If you have some example sites take the time to tell the designer what you like about those sites. Pay attention to colors, logo placement and layout.

    Sometimes simply asking a few questions can give you the answers you need to get the project where it needs to be. Every freelance designer wants return customers so it's in their best interest to provide exactly what you wanted - in fact, they should seek to exceed your expectations!

      I am thinking of setting up an Internet Marketing blog and have an example theme in mind. You will see it at Dan Sumner Blog | Marketing Tips News and Reviews

      I am in the early stages of planning and was wondering 1) if this is something you could put together for me and 2) what level of pricing should I budget for.

          What do you need from me in order to begin the process? I plan to order the Ultimate service but would be interested in seeing some samples of your work if possible.
