Fsrevolution and smarty templates

I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with FSR and it's template design using smarty! I'm fairly intelligent and am looking for someone to help me or show me how I can implement my sliced template into this system. I probably only need someone to give me an example or show me how to do the header.tpl and and 1 or 2 others and I will be able to do the whole site myself!

    just a passer by here, TPL is a nightmare, mostly because it is not dynamic, not the way PHP is dynamic, there are some limited things you can do but it almost always involves a lot of repetitive work, nasty business if you ask me.

    The worst thing about it is that implementation of a design will involve each and every page your tpl file system is running, you can convert a set of images into a design but I think it will be a limited design, header footer, body, leaving you with a sort of old looking site, some may disagree, but TPL man I wish I could knock it in the head,

    I have been looking for a method of killing TPL for a while now and so far no luck.
