      In addition to the last post, consider how fast websites are changing today. A website developed only 18 months ago can look dated. Is that really the face you want to put forth to your online client when they first meet your company? First impressions are everything . . .especially in the web world.

      In addition, the rules for SEO are changing rapidly. You want to have a site that better meets today's SEO requirements.

      One other thing I've been noticing is what a company wants OUT of website has changed significantly in the past 2 years. Used to be local companies only wanted a online brochure and maybe a few products. With the advent of social media, the need for companies to interact dynamically with their clients and potential client can make the difference between staying in business and going out of business.

      And finally, (tongue in cheek here), remember all those poor out of work website designers and developers who are hungry to make your site look it's very best online.. . LOL

        Hi,

        First of all, why do you want to redesign ? Before you do anything consider carefully touching production website especially, if you have good number of us.

        There should be some reason to redesign your site, looks ugly? not user friendly? too many images ? If your answer is 'no' for these three questions than try to optimize than redesign your site.

      There are only a few reasons really:
      - make your website more user friendly
      - update the look so it doesn't seem so '99 (I think everyone knows what I mean)
      - a new look = a new reason to remarket your website. Bring in new visitors, revamp old users interest. "Hey, we've grown! Check out our new improved website" or "Site v.2 is out! New improved user experience etc" or whatever the reason you started the redesign in the first place
      - your website looks alive to its usual users. You don't only keep adding content, but the whole website is growing, updating gets in line with the latest trends < isn't that like what most big websites do?...

      Just my 2 cents
