I am thinking of starting up in small minisite design, sales pages ,e-book design etc. I have never designed sites untill now and thought i would give it a go,( nothing to loose if you don't try ).

I have not put these out on the web yet as i keep going over the sites i have designed to see if i can make them better. They are still in the photoshop format at the moment but i have taken some pics and hope people will give an honest view on them , I realy need to know if you like what you see and will appreciate any comments, Thanx. Please forgive my spelling.

Really nice set of designs you have going on. I would be interested to see how people react to the "Gold Mine!" style of these types of sites. I suppose they must be successful because there are so many. However, I would personally be skeptical of any site that flashes money and treasure.

My personal favorite is your blue template. I think you could do well with it. Very professional.

I agree with regards to the "flashiness" effect of the money and gold background. Try to minimize it a bit. Anyway the templates are good. Good Luck!

He has a great point...reminds me of the "Rich Jerk". Google it if you haven't heard of the ebook...I bought it. It wasn't bad. In large part because he made an effort to insult me in every chapter. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Regardless of what your designing, it's so very clear you have skill. Good luck to you in the future!!

"" WOW "" Thanks for the reviews guy's, never thought just having started at this that i would get such good views from pro's such as yoursellf, I have designed 27 of these sites upto now, i am aiming to make around the 40 to 50 mark before i go live, I've taken note about the flashiness and will be more carefull in that area, My aim or Goal is to try and make a wide veriaty of sites that will appeal to the IM marketer , the sites you see here are just 5 off them, and most of the other sites are not as flashy. If any one would like to see any other site design please say and i will change the thumbnail view.

Once again thanks for the reviews.

Hi there and thanks for the taking a look at the graphics.

I have changed and modified templetes in dreamweaver, i do have some basic (very basic) knowlage and can put together a basic 2 to 3 page minisite, But i have never created the graphics my self untill now, I decided to make my own graphics based on information products for some one selling a product on a subject such as this forum, the aim is that you would be able to choose one of the minisites lets say the gold mine theme and change the text to something like " The Marketing Forum Goldmine " , Or whatever subject you wanted , change the sub headers and so on and use the minisite to create your product, sales page, squeeze page, thank you page , download page etc. The finished product that i will eventualy sell will be a 4 to 5 page minisite that will include a sales page, squeeze page, thank you page and download page, there will also be extra graphics to put put on any page such as garauntee cards, download buttons, bulletts etc.

I have based the graphics you can see on the thumbnails for the minisites as i see this format being sold already for this type of product, I carn't give too much away at this stage but i REALY do appreciate all the comments i have recieved , As i said before i have never created my own site graphics before now and i am still a newbie to marketing, just wanted to test the water over the graphics themselves to see if people think they are ok.

Thanks again for the comments and I DO take note of all replies and see what i can do to improve... thanks guys.

In the first three samples I did have just a little bit of difficulty reading the title. It didn't jump out really clear. But these are really nice designs. I'm sure you will do well offering this service to others.

      Hi all,
I am a complete newbie to internet marketing. I recently got a web developer to build me a website. Problem i have noticed is that it opens
or loads very slowly. I have complained to the developer but he keeps telling me it is okay, but i know it is not. I am currently on hostgator reseller package. I would appreciate some assistance on how to make
the site load up very fast. The web developer is just taking advantage
of me because he knows that i am a newbie.PLEASE somebody help me.

Well, if your looking for honestly I will dish it out.......

If these are your first, you have done good considering they are your first.

But, one thing I will suggest to you and anyone else endeavoring to actually make a living and stand out, above and beyond the rest of the minisite designers, is to study and apply basic graphic design principles.

Then study and apply typography and color theory.

Lots of people take photoshop and past images up and think they have done something great But they do not apply the rules of design, and it shows.

What will set you apart is doing what I suggested to you above.............

This is by no means meant to discourage you, but to help you understand what you should learn in order that you do not stay at the mediocre minisite designer level.

Here is a good starting article if you do not have the time to go to college....

Graphic Design Basics Course | Principles of Graphic Design Basics

Also, look up "the rule of thirds"

If you just google graphic design principles, color theory, or typography principles, you will have plenty to study, learn and apply.........

Your designs are really good especially for your first try. Keep it up, and don't let people confuse you and make you change your style with a bunch of technical mumbo jumbo. Keep it clean and simple with nice colors and a good lay out and you will be fine!!!!

Thanks for this. I mean it, I'm not discouraged in any way, advise and help will make me grow stronger. I visited the links at About.com and can see what you mean. I have read them and understand to a cirtain degree what the articles are about and how to apply them to design, I will practice this in future designs and see what i can come up with, The reason my designs are not on the web yet is because i know i need to learn more, I started off learning photoshop and as i progressed i stumbled on mini sites and thought i would give it a try. I looked around the net at minisites at how they were designed to give me an idea and then designed the sites in photoshop, I wasn't too worried at this stage about how they looked in the way i layed them out on the photoshop page and was just testing the water to see if i could possibly take this further, Judging from some great replys I've had i think i will progress in this field, Especialy with help that i am receiving from everyone,

    once again thank you.

To everyone else who has replyed, thanks thanks thanks, hope you keep them comining, every little helps good or bad.

" Well" sorry i took so long to back here but i took some time out to do some studying on design issues mentioned in Steve Wells Thread.

This Opend my eyes and made me realise i have a long way to go. I have put together another design based on some of the basics of design i have learnt so far. One thing that i didn't realise is WEB COLORS this has made me think again and have totaly reset photoshop for web disgn not originaly knowing how to do this. I have also been and visited some sites that give me color schemes to give me a good understanding of how this works,

Any way enough babling on here, please take a look at this new design, it's only a jpg image of the photoshop and not made into a site yet, I've had some realy great comments and thank you all as i lean each time someone leaves their views. I realy want to get this right before going live on the web.
