So I've finally decided to get on the wordpress bandwagon after I found a pretty cool theme package to use for my websites.

I've got a pretty good handle on everything, I do however have two small hopefully minor questions.

The first is about the page menus at the top. I can't find out how to reorder them. Is this possible and am I just missing something that is right under my nose? For instance let's say I have the following page menu at the top.

Home | Widgets | Doo-Dads | Thingamabobs
How can I get it to read:

Home | Thingamabobs | Widgets | Doo-Dads
My next question is whether or not it is possible to have more than one blog page. For instance If I wanted to post in blog format underneath each one of the page menus, is that possible?

  • If the links are directed towards Pages you can set the order on the right hand side, 0 will appear first and higher numbers will appear after.

    If the links are towards posts you may need to edit the date they are posted in to get the correct order, if that fails you may need to tinker with the template files.

    To answer your second question, the inbuilt category feature should be able to take care of this, if that's not enough you may want to look at creating some custom post types.

  • Never assume that what you don't know are "minor questions"...

    If the theme is properly coded to work with WordPress 3.x.x - you can use the custom menus feature to reorder them.
    Otherwise any of the suggested solutions would do...


    It is possible, although NOT as you thought it would.

    Forget the Pages and make those "things" categories: whenever you click on a category's name - it takes you to a (web)page - not WP Page with capital P!!! - called 'category archives' which will display only posts from that category.

      I was able to find the setting to change the Page buttons along the top. It was located as a count index on the editing menu for the specific page. Seems to me that it would be easier to put that count index on the editing section to add/edit/remove/bulk action ... but that's just me.
