i have a wordpress problem

I just downloaded the Platform theme for Wordpress. My posts come up on the home page but when i go to continue reading it brings up a 404 error. I'm a newb just hoping theres a quick fix for this.

  • you will get better answers if you reply on the themes forum if they have one, i know it can be frustrating waiting on answers!! If they dont have a forum they should have at least a support desk assuming its a premium theme>?

    • If you have it based on a hosting account you can just goto the tech support Live IM chat - they're very helpful - and you won't have to wait for a reply.
  • Hey there! Sounds to me like you have a permalink problem - and the format is not working out right. Did you make any changes to the permalinks to your posts? Can you share your website with us to look at?

    I agree, the themes forum might be a better place - but hey, you're here, you asked....so if we can help, let's do it!

    • Going a little deeper from the permalinks idea . . . could you have changed the name of the post? Sometimes I've renamed them and run into similar problems.

    I always use this code in my permalinks, in the custom structure code box!

    /%category%/%postname%/

    Works for me, good for SEO?

  • Yes I should think is a permerlink problem, I had the same experience yesterday when I changed my permelink to custom. The 404 error started appearing whenever I clicked read more of that post. I had to reset the permlink to default setting and it was corrected.
