Troubles with Wordpress Themes

I'm hoping I can receive a little help from this great community. I am very new to web design and have decided to go the wordpress route as I have read it is easy to get started with this platform. I have a domain and hosting but am having a hard time finding a theme that fulfills my needs for what I have planned. Now, I am not sure whether it is just customization that I need to learn for what I have in mind or if there is a better way to go about this. I have attached a very basic, and poorly drawn template of the sort of thing I am looking for. I am asking if someone could help me along with this. I would be extremely gracious.

Perhaps it is a few plugins here and a few edits to existing themes, a combination of both or even a theme that fits this perfectly.

Let me know what you think!

Edit: that image is not coming up very well. Trying to get a better image attached

You might check out Thematic. It has a bit of a learning curve for creating child themes but is very versatile.

That ismage is pretty small to see all the details, but in general, it looks like the layouts available in the Flex theme or you could use Builder (ithemes) and create any layout you want.

There are probably a ton of themes that will do what you need though the demos will not show all the options up front, because the settings are behind the scenes and you can set them up to your own likings once installed.
