WP Thesis Theme

I currently use a couple of free themes on my blogs that I am very happy with. However, I hear so much buzz about Thesis Theme for WP. Am I missing out? What are some of the features that make this theme so good?

    Thesis has a great SEO options AFAIK, although I've never tried one myself.

      • Solid framework
      • Although bare, looks good out of the box
      • Lots of buttons to customize the look
      • Great support
      • Great forum
      • Skins available (free and paid) to instantly transform your site
      Cons
      • lots of buttons means lots to learn
      • there's quite a way to go from the initial look to the final product (if you don't use a skin)

        Thesis also gives you a bunch of SEO controls that most other themes / plugins don't give you. One good example is the ability to change category pages into content pages. You can literally add content above your posts on your category page without touching any code, and that's great for bolstering those pages.

      Assuming you know what to do, yes.

      However, the category page specifically is what's hard to do in regular themes. Before Thesis, you had to create custom category page templates, or custom hooks for each one of your categories. With Thesis, you get a nice little text box and it pulls the information to the page for you.

    I use Thesis too and its SEO is pretty great. I am sure you can emulate any feature they provide, but they package it nicely and many Wordpress experts only build sites using Thesis...

    Hello, Thesis is highly recommended for SEO though It's a bit of a learning curve to customize your site. A very close #2 and used by many experts is the Headway themes framework which also has great SEO and even a beginner can design a attractive website in little time...
