Hi;
I've a website that selling an ebook,
cajuncreolerecipe.com

I'm thinking to put my effort on ranking a keyword "cajun recipe"

From your oppinion, will the effort worth it?

I'm asking this, because, when I search for this keyword right now, there are top rank website on that keyword that offer a FREE advice and recipe.

As we all know, it is a hard way to sell when our competition giving away what we sell for free. IMO.

Any advice?

Thanks

First, your book should offer more than what your competitors are giving away for free. You may want to take a rule from their playbook and offer up free tips and advice too. You can find this kind of information all over the internet. These measures can help build customer confidence in your product.

Before you decide on putting SEO effort into keywords, do your keyword research first. You might even find some alternative keywords/phrases that have high search and low competition.

    Good Luck,

Free stuff can and will make you more money then paid stuff often, just not right away. People love a guy (or girl lol) who has the guts to give away great and amazing free content while appearing to not expect anything in return. Later comes the money

I would suggest spending your time on the KW research. What type of other advertising methods are you thinking of? I'd suggest Ezine

    Good tips and thoughts above.

One way to determine if it is worth it is to invest a few bucks now on Google PPC ads. That way you can drive instant targeted traffic almost instantly.

You may pay a little more for the clicks for the short test, but remember you are just testing the traffic.

See how many people come to the site, how many convert to a lead or a sale...etc.

Then research how many people are searching for your keyword.

Then you can figure out if you get that top spot in the natural seo about how much you will be making. Then you can determine if it will be worth it.

Also remember that if you collect leads/optins (give away a few special recipes for an email) you can sell to them over and over from just that one visit.

I like to just start with Google itself...is anybody paying for that keyword.
how to tie a tie...nobody paying
      cajun recipe...have some payers.

You may have to move toward more "buying keywords"...for example
cajun recipe cookbook...still has some paid advertising, 1/3 the competition, but is more toward somebody looking to buy something on that topic.

      my 2 cents anyway,
      Brandon

Hi Raja, as you can see lots of your competitors are offering free cooking recipes, so your best bet would be to either first offer a free ebook with a few free recipes in order to get to subscribe and redirect them then to your course, either lower the price of your course to something like $4,97 and offer your BUYERS an upsell (it can be a PLR book, even though I suggest you first re-design it).

        Good luck,
        Dan.
