Hey all guys i transfered my template file to my root folder i.e public_html folder of my domain and in the file mangare i even see the template folder but why is it not showing up on my site ?

Does it need time to show up you know like DNS changes take time to show their effect

Or is there any other way to put my template manually like in wordpress there is an option of uploading theme
#website design #dns #show #site #template #web #website
  • If you have transferred the domain from another hosting to yours, then it will take some time. But if you have not, then it should appear there.

Sending a link to your domain will be helpful for us to figure out whats wrong.

    • No i havent transfered the domain from other company and here is my site : emarketingrevealed.com
  • What do you mean when you say template file?

Please describe the actual steps you took.
  • No, you didn't... if your site is this:
    emarketingrevealed.com

    There is NOTHING there.

    • Yes i did .I opened up filezilla loged in with my username and password and then navigated to the public_html folder of my site emarketingrevealed.com and then from my local disk i dragged and dropped the template zip folder into the public_html folder .

FYI like i said when i open file manager in my cpanel i can see a folder with the name of my template.

So now tell me why doesnt show up ?

    • If the template is in folder you need to open the folder and upload everything one by one. You can also use the clr key to select all and upload to the public_html.
See, the templates come with images. So open the folder up and upload them.

E.g if your template is in a folder names template folder. You need to open that folder then upload everything in that folder to your root folder.

I hope this helps at least.

  • You first need to un-zip the zip file and then drag the contents into your public_html folder.
  • Typically when you want to upload a template package to your own site, you will download a zip file which holds all the files and folders. Once the zip file has downloaded to your computer you need to un-zip it with a special program like WinZip or 7-Zip usually by right-clicking it and selecting "Extract Here". All of the zip files contents will be extracted to the same location the zip file is in.
Then you want to open your FTP program and drag all of the contents that was just extracted and drop it into the public_html folder.

*If there is not a file called index.html in the contents, then anything you upload to your public_html folder will not show up automatically. So if you have a file named salescopy.html or something similar you will need to rename it to index.html before uploading it*

As has been mentioned before (Post #5) . . .

There has been NOTHING uploaded to that site Index of / - the home directory is empty - no zip, no /css folder, no /images folder - nothing.

And this is a Support Forum thread . .
  • I'm creating a short video for you and will have it ready in about 5-10 minutes.

    • No offense, but I think perhaps you should do a little more research on how to upload files and manage your hosting before you accidentally delete too many other things.

Perhaps try searching on youtube for "how to manage web hosting" or something similar.

I'll still upload the short video for you as a starter.
    • Lol. There was not even a single file in the domain, how come you say you have deleted the .htaccess file
  • No, I want a screenshot of your FTP when connected to the server and showing the files you uploaded to the public_html folder

It doesn't matter what you think you did - the facts (what is visible on the net) tell us you have no idea what you did and the files are not uploaded where you said they were. OK, I will repeat it: the files are NOT where they are supposed to be.
  • Here's my short video on how to extract and upload.

    2] ftp : 2011-01-30 21h45_17 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
  • The whole thing has nothing to do with the files being zipped. So, you can skip that video.
Mike, you are almost as stubborn as the OP. Look at the images he linked to...

The problem is - the files are NOT where the OP thinks they are

    • duh its not about being stubborn, that wont fix my problem .now i even showed you the screenshots what do yu wanna say i photoshopped or something lol.

I wanna resolve my problem hence the thread and since you know the files are not where theya re supposed to be then how come still you are not able to figure what could be the missing part.
And why hitting up on mike he actually shared a video that made sense according to my question

  • You want to drag everything into the emarketingrevealed.com folder instead of the public_html folder.
  • Got it to work thanks guys !
