Yes I know wordpress can handle this. Many sites are done with wp and you can see that you can have many pages and pages that link to one another within your website. So yes wp can handle this.

        Wrong question.

The script from wordpress.ORG is free - you can download it for free! In case you misssed it: it is free...

You don't pay anything to wordpress.org.
You pay for your OWN domain and for a hosting package wherever you want you domain/site to be hosted. (google is your friend to find one)

The (free in your head only) blogs at wordpress.COM are not for commercial use; they are only for hobby bloggers.

As for your original question: if you want that kind of huge online shop, you may fare better with an eshop/ecommerce script. You know: the right tool for the right job slogan...

Hey Istvan, I have been stalking you for a while (LOL). Not really stalking you, but every post I view, POOF, there you are, LOL... You give some great advice, and I think highly of you, however, I have to RESPECTFULLY disagree with you on this statement.

With all of the FREE and paid plugins WP has available, running an extensive ecommerce site using WP is now a days very very possible and extremely feasible.

@alan9187: It really depends on your own preference. WP can and will handle exactly what you say you want/need, but, as Istvan pointed out, so would a shopping cart type system.

Going back to your original post, yes, WP can give you what you are looking for and for free.

Since most "good" ecommerce systems have a tad higher learning curve than WP does, I would suggest you take some time to install a copy of WP, grab a few ecom plugins and play with it for a bit. If you find it does what you need, great, if not, you can then check out some ecommerce scripts, starting of course with the free versions and then, if need be, moving on to paid types...

@Istvan, again, I said what I said with ALL DUE RESPECT to you, no offense meant (I'm sure you know that though, so I assume all is well, LOL).

I have nothing against if you help the OP to make such an online shop using WP.

Sorry, JohnyD, I don't know you enough, so it's not personal!

However, my general impression in this forum is that people having half-baked knowledge about WP think that script is the alpha and omega of webmaking.

And those who have an in-depth knowledge of WP are aware of its limitations and being completely inadequate for certain tasks.
