Can someone advise me if i need to add www. after http://mydomain as im having some problems with my sitemap in google webmaster tools.

I think i added my site with www. in webmaster tools. What is the right or wrong way of this and is the default setting in wordpress omitts the www automatically?

All advice appreciated. Thanks

    There is no right or wrong way.

    The only VERY WRONG thing that you can do is using both variants for your web site.

    Pick ONE and stick with it. That's the "secret"

        When after I added a new post and saved in my WP blog, I click on "view post", it doesn't show up the page instead of error or page not found!

        But if I go to the main page and click the post through category, my new post is there, how strange..

        Any advice what could go wrong here?

          Sounds like you have an issue with permalinks. Make sure the .htaccess file for your site is writeable and then go and re-save your permalink settings and that might do the trick.

    I have always done http://sitename.com and have always been able to get my sites ranked on the front page. I agree with Istvan there really isn't a wrong or right way of doing it.
