I am posting this here, as I some banner/coding people could be reading this.

On some affliate sites where they host different size banners, they have the code to copy and paste. What is this code? - lets assume the banners are hosted on the sellers site.

If i have some banners in this example, what would be my code?

and is there a site which shows what the copy and paste code will be?

examples
[Banner 1] {Hosted on
www.entry.com/banners/banner1.swf}

[Banner 2] {Hosted on www.entry.com/banners/banner2
.swf}

what is that code for them examples?

edit- I am looking for the copy and paste code that Affiliates can Copy and paste, so that they can Take the banner and place it on their blog.

    Depends on where you want to put the banner - but generally it would be:

    <a href="http://youraffiliatelinkhere"><img src="http://www.entry.com/banners/banner2.jpg" alt="banner title" /></a>

    In your example you're hot linking to a flash image - .swf - which I probably wouldn't do.

        yeah - the extension is .swf - that's ShockWave Flash - now small web format - but still Flash.

        Nothing exactly WRONG with hotlinking (linking to a file on another website) a flash image, but the problem is that you don't have any control over it. You can't (easily) attach links to a .swf file - the links are already included in the .swf. If you're hotlinking then whoever controls the file controls the links IN the file - so they effectively control the banner on your site - not a situation I'd want to be in. Make sense?

        It's a lot different then hotlinking a .jpg banner that has YOUR anchor text around it - like in my example above. That's a lot safer.

    hotlinks with swf are very dangerous, unless it is from a reliable and reputed source. So please be cautious.

      If you want to design web site banner using flash banner.Asp.net provide inbuilt flash control "flash-control.net", then you embed you flash application according your choice with banner.

      < FlashControl ID= FlashControl1; runat=server; MovieUrl=~/movie/welcome.swf; BrowserDetection=False; Height=122px; Width=217px >

      This may help you.

        What is dangerous about it?

        and when you mean Hotlink, do you mean the link website, which they get Directed too, when they click on the banner?

        {which in my case I want to be the affiliates affiliate link to my product sales page}

          What I mean is linking to the banner from another website. In other words, the .swf (banner) is actually hosted on someone elses server, and you're embedding it on your site.

          This is not the same as where the banner links to. The point is, you have no control over where the banner links to as you have no control over the banner. It's a flash banner that's located on someone elses server and controlled by them.

            The banners are going to be hosted on my server, which affiliates can copy and paste the code for.

            to put on say their blog.

            When visitors click this banner on their blog, then they wil go to MY sale page with that affiliates affiliate code.

            what would be the code for that?
