So I have this site (in my sig) but I think its kind of bland, there are no graphics. Can someone recommend where I can place some graphics without it being to invasive but where it will make my site more interesting? I am using the theme "platform".

The theme you've picked is very... white! If you want to spice it up a little bit, the answer might not be in adding graphics. Try changing backgrounds of specific areas of your blog. You might try making the menu backgrounds darker to help organize your visual layout a little bit. Pick up a magazine and look at how the cover is organized. That's one of the best resources for good design references. If all else fails, you might need a new theme.

crap, I can't find a new theme! This is my favorite theme because its so flexible! I can arrange it anyway i like. The only thing I don't like is the large bottom bar, and the lack of a background.

The first thing I notice is that I don't notice anything Try focusing visitor attention with one or two colourful graphics that lead them where you want them to go.

As far as themes go, I now create most of my themes on Themehybrid and love the way hooks let you place content almost anywhere without much effort.

I agree with Kyle Logue, I'd add a background colour to the menu's and also try adding a lighter background colour to the whole site and a larger logo would make a big difference.

Hi Theory5, the platform theme is by PageLines. It looks like it's meant to almost be a "starter" theme for developers/designers thus it's so "sparse" when it comes to layout/colors/etc.

I think before you decide on a theme, you should ask yourself what you'd like to accomplish with your site/theme and then let that be your reason for using a theme. Does that make sense?

There's nothing wrong with the theme you chose but, for example, if you don't really expect anyone to visit your site, then leave it as it is. If you want people to engage with your site, ask yourself "what type of people" thus set about arranging your site accordingly. Does that make sense? Sort of? lol

Let me know if you need any tips

    Cheers

    Scott

I agree with Lithium... When I got to your site, I don't notice anything. It doesn't fit your niche at all. Just start googling for amazing wordpress themes. There are many compiled lists that you can go through, and they are all quality themes.
