Images for Squeeze Pages

Hi fellow warriors,

I would like to build a one page HTML squeeze page for local business marketing. I already have a template for the squeeze page and I need to insert images of a specific size into the page. My questions are: What's the best source for finding images (e.g. real estate, mortgage broker, wedding planner fields) and how do I change the size of those images to fit into my webpage? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

  • istockphoto.com is the best source of images IMO, and you can resize the images with any photo-editing software. Gimp is a good free software for doing this.
  • You should be cautious while resizing the images. To my knowledge the image that you are going to resize should be of hi resolution. Otherwise it might get distorted and the image will not be clear. Correct me if I am wrong.

    • It's not a big deal when using them on the web (it's a more complex story when printing). If the image is large enough to start with, u can scale-down it without a quality loss. But of course u shouldn't enlarge it than the original size. The main thing to concern here is, u should keep the aspect ratio of the original image when resizing, otherwise crop it if it doesn't fit to the area of the website.

If u don't use an image file manager, image editor or a WYSIWYG HTML editor, u may need to look for an online image resizing service like 'ShrinkPictures.com'.
  • If u are looking for free images, there are places to find them. But I can't put those links here because I'm not allowed to do so by the forum. Let me know if u are still looking for it, so I can PM the list.
