There are thousands or themes out there and there are thousands of plugins as well.

We can give you suggestions only if you let us know what kind of website you want to create.

Thanks for the reply, I left you a message through your web page. I am looking to create my own personal web site, but it must also form a landing platform for my CPA venture...I want a website feel, not a blog feel...any themes.plug-ins I should consider?

As has already been mentioned there thousands of themes out there and at least half of them are free for the asking. Personally I'm using Socrates under the license that allows for use on unlimited number of sites. I prefer a layout that resizes with the browser as opposed to a fixed layout. The fixed layout typically only has content down the middle of the window leaving a broad band of empty space down either side. That's really kind of old school and doesn't take advantage of newer CSS functionality. A liquid or dynamic layout is much better especially with newer monitors that often are much wider than the earlier generation of monitors.

WP allows you to create "pages" that are not blog post and you can set which "page" is the default landing page. So your site can have the best of both worlds, "pages" like a regular website and a blog where you can keep adding new fresh content that is indexed individually for each post. To Google this gives you lots of pages.

I always look for themes when I've already outlined by myself how I want the site to look and feel. Much easier that way to actually find a good theme.

As for plug-in's I personally always use All in One SEO Pack and Google XML Sitemap as a base.

I have found that some of the most robust WordPress themes are offered by "Headway Themes". They also have a money back guarantee, which is reassuring.

Woo Themes is pretty good for wordpress themes. Or Google "premium wordpress themes" - you can't go wrong with some of the membership packages. $200 for access to all the themes.
