Hi
I have seen this particular wordpress problem referred to as the white screen of death - basically I have a website that is a few years old and decided to login to the wp-admin - then I realised that my password did not work. Hence from looking on the web I found a way to reset my password through phpmyadmin - I followed the process but afterward I could not log in at all - just got the 'white screen upon going into wp-admin - - so can no longer log in - is this something that anyone has any idea how to fix or can give me some advice - or point to a service that can correct this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Yikes.. remove all plugins from plugins folder and all templates except default? Other than that.. unless you have an old database to go back too, not sure.

Thanks for your help guys, I'll look at the article right away - if the site didn't have PR - I would probably delete it, but as it has am trying to save it.

    Thanks

Appears there could be several culprits, e.g. plugins, running out of memory and problems with functions.php. You could try removing all plugins, changing the theme, etc. Many have reported that removing the white space between functions solved their problem. You could make a backup of your functions.php file (theme dir) then edit it and remove any spaces between functions and save. Just be sure to make a backup first and don't delete any of the code just the white space between functions. This doesn't answer the question of why this is happening on different blogs but they could be sharing a similar theme, plugin, script, etc. that is the cause.

Thanks for the link Ryan - what I did was to disabled the plugins folder via ftp - which threw me into the backend of the blog straight away - then I created another password. When I enabled the plugins folder again they all needed to be activated, but I only activated a few necessary ones and the blog is now working fine - so the link did help.

Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks also for your comments Ryan - you reminded me of the necessity to do a backup - so going to do that right now!
    Cheers
