Perhaps your server has been overloaded. Going dedicated will cost you very much.
Unless you have the budget for dedicated server, I would recommend you to change to another shared hosting company, such as hostgator, etc.

First, deactivate all of your Wordpress plugins and see if they are still running slowly. If that speeds things up, then start turning your plugins on one by one and check the speed each time. You should be able to tell what plugin(s) are causing the issues.

You can also try installing the WP Super Cache plugin to speed things up a bit.

If disabling the plugins does NOT speed it up significantly, you may consider changing hosts or just asking them to move you to a different server. Be sure to let them know that everything is running slow and see if they can give you any advise first. Depending on your current account level, it may be as simple as paying for a higher level of service.

How many WP sites do you have running on your account and how much traffic do you have?

That's not good advice, it could be the theme, or how he is using WP. He should try to figure out the problem before he knows what the solution is.

Should probably install one of the plugins that shows what queries are running
      WP-Devel ? or similiar

Have seen before with many thumbnails that it runs 3 queries PER thumbnail.

Switching hosts, or going dedicated is a waste of $

Bluehost is highly recommended host for wordpress. Try the suggestion of previous poster and deactivate plugins and reactivate one at a time. If that doesn't contact support at Bluehost. I've read on wordpress forums they can help speed things up.

Going dedicated for a WP blog is insanity.

Do you have a lot of pictures on your blog by chance? Using thumbs?

Are you using a cache plugin?

maybe the problem is with your hosting, or you can try again by removing all flash and big pics from home page.

First, BlueHost is a horrible host and a lot of sites have changed from it. A lot of people I know hated the speed of it. If it is your WP, then deactivate all un-necessary plugins.

Can you do a speed test for me first:

      Pingdom Tools

The tool will give you a score for how long your site takes to load and will highlight the areas of your site which is taking so long to load.

Ask support team if the server is overloaded, or if they can provide some network load/bandwidth info.

If it's the bandwith, try to 'outsource' videos or pictures to other sites.

If it's the server, deactivate plugins and re-test. It could be your plugins, or it could be anyone else's ones.
You could ask your support team to move your account into another server.

Going on a private server is a complete waste if you only have some WP blogs.
I'm working now with A small orange, but tried Dreamhost (support was terriffic 4 or 5 years ago, then I moved for other reasons), Shinjuru, Netfirms (don't like it very much) and many other.

Avoid at all means central american hosting.
