Reinstall Wordpress on subdomain?

I needed to create a subdomain but what I'm not sure about is a CMS. To get Wordpess to work on subdomain do I have to reinstall WP again or is there plugin for this? Any help would be great.

  • I think you can just install Wordpress on the subdomain as if it was it's own unique domain name... might depend on what host you are using... which host are you using?

  • Just found out I can't install more than one WP CMS in the rootdirectory of the domain using hostgator hosting.
  • Just create an addon domain, simple as long as its a new domain
    My hosting provider lets me install unlimited addon domains
    Hostgator should allow this also
    Do they?
  • You can have a wordpress installation per folder and per database. You'll need to create a new config file for the new installation too.

    • Thanks to all of you for your help. I had to install WP into different folder other than root folder. Hostgator then allows you to foward a subdomain to the folder.
