Hi

I have about 5 wordpress sites that I have sold.

I know there is a plugin that will back up everything including the databases etc as I have used it before but can not remember the name of it.

Any help would be great.

I just want to create the backup and send it across so they can "un pack it" i believe

Only sold 1 site in the past so not familiar with the process

Thanks

I don't know if it's the one you were thinking of, but BackupBuddy does what you asked about.

But there are others as well, I believe.

Here's some info on WordPress backups that may be helpful:

    Cheers,

Log in to your WP dashboard and click TOOLS => EXPORT. Pretty easy.

The method you suggested backups only posts and pages and not the full backup such as database backup. Also the images will not be backup.

If you are going to be doing this on a regular basis then there is only one tool - Wp Twin. This is what the pros are using and it will transfer absolutely everything over - posts, pages, databases, comments, plugins and all their configured settings, and so on.

You can clone a full Wordpress site over to a new domain with all the saved settings, etc in just a few minutes.

WillR, thanks for the great post. I've been using this for a while and I must say this works great and does the job in few minutes as stated!

If you don't want a paid option you could go to "add plugins" in wordpress and search for a plugin called "wordpress database backup" and you can also backup all your files easily in your cPanel.

WP Twin is good if you are going to do this regularly and want a quick and easy solution so could be well worth the investment.

I use WP-DBManager which is free. It can be set up to automatically backup everything on a schedule, and either stores it in the file system or automatically emails it to you.

    Works very well for me.

      Thank you everyone

I managed to get a set up of two plugins, which will back up everything (i believe)

I did not plan on doing this often, I just wanted to sell 5 sites so I could focus on 1 or 2

      Thanks again

BackWPUp does plugin/theme files backup as well as database backup. It can send the backups to your email, FTP server, Amazon S3, and more. Well worth checking out. (It's free and open source, by the way.)
