I'm doing a wordpress site/blog and I want to add Adsense to it. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good plugin for adding Adsense to it? There are so many!! I just want one good one that doesn't break the Adwords TOS. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!

    • Thanks, cosmoslad. I will try that one out! I appreciate the suggestion.

Glad my question helped you, too, simonbuzz!
  • Honestly, using a plugin to add an adsense block could cost you a lot of revenue. To help you understand what I mean, please check out the following link:

WordPress › Support » All in One Adsense and YPN Is NOT Free

I have personally used the plugin mentioned in the link on at least 70-80 blogs of mine, without ever knowing that my adsense codes were only being shown a small percentage of the time. I would have happily paid the developer for the plugin because it was so awesome, but instead, he snuck his publisher ID in place of mine, without ever letting me know he was doing this. Not cool at all...

If you decide to use a plugin, I highly recommend that you do your due diligence and be sure that your ads are being shown instead of the developer's ads at all times.

An alternative is to generate the code in your Adsense control panel, copy the code, and paste it in a text widget in your sidebar (or before the WordPress loop in your template files).

This might take a little extra work to integrate AdSense into your blog, but I'm paranoid about losing money that I earned fair & square, and I'm guessing you feel the same.

Now please... Don't think that all adsense plugin developers are using the same practice. Most of the developers out there are honest and up front with everything. I'm not telling you to completely rule out using a plugin to handle the hard work, but at least check around for some reviews or complaints about the plugin BEFORE using the plugin.

    Hope that helps,

    Jason

    • Thanks for the tips, Jay! I will definitely do my research and keep your advice in mind. I am always pretty thorough that way. There are a ton of plugins to wade through though, and I'm very new at this so I wanted to see if any warriors had any recommendations. The first one I tried placed a huge ad on my site... I knew I didn't want that and I removed it right away. Thank goodness for the versatility and ease of use with wordpess. I really like it.

      Thanks again!

  • Another option to keep in mind is to just edit your themes directly to include the Adsense (or other ad) blocks where you want them.

Plugins are nice, but for each new plugin you add, your WordPress site gets incrementally slower.

If you do some searches, you'll find tons of tutorials on how to do this - it's not that hard. Try this search:

    HTH!
  • Quick AdSense lets you control where and how many ads show, and works for other ad blocks, too. It's free, as well.

    • Thanks for all the great ideas and suggestions. I really appreciate them! I'm glad I asked. I'm really new at the wordpress install thing, and it's been a lot to learn. kjhosein, I will definitely look into doing it myself. I have a lot to learn, but I want to learn how to code things myself for sure. Thanks again to everyone who responded. Much appreciated.
  • Advertising manager is nice, except you can't exclude the adsense from certain pages.

Alternatively, if you're using the thesis theme, the thesis Open Hook Plugin will allow you to place your ads virtually anywhere on your page, but again, you can't exclude it from certain pages.
  • I use max banner ads. They have a free and paid version. Very easy to use with nice stats tracking built-into plugin.

  • I like Easy Adsense. It is simple to use, does good ad placements and you can have a number of ads set up and switch them out at will without having to put in the code over and over. I like it a lot.

    • I needed something simple, so I've found and tried Ad Inserter. It works not only for adsense but also for any types of ads. It has some simple but useful features such as rotations, positions within content, etc.

  • I honestly think that Quick Adsense is the best because it gives you the most flexibility in terms of where you place the ads within the content. It's good if you want to float them w/i a post, which I like...
  • Now Adsense doesn't support the WordPress and blogger blog.If you have old adsense account then you add your adsense in your blog otherwise its impossible. Now Google changed her adsense policy.
