Hey Warriors!

I have just created a new forum/community. The mission is to build a new community for Digital Nomads! (Those of us who have a passion for traveling around the world and leverage technology and the internet to earn a living!)

Like I said, the forum is brand new, so I'd love to hear some feedback on the design, color scheme, logo and anything else of interest!

Thanks in advance!

I would also be particularly interested in feedback on the header/logo... thanks!

Why did you decide to go with the superhero'ish "superdyne/Indian Jones" type font for the logo? Is it a particular demographic you're trying to reach?

Your site is somewhat perplexing. It's covering everything from SEO to Photography to Joint Ventures to Caribbean Travel to Travel Horror Stories to Horror Stories While Doing SEO on a Plane to the Caribbean. Who's your target audience?

I agree, it also seems very busy and cluttered including no set direction.

Also, digital nomads are people who more often than not live abroad in remote places around the world and use technology and the internet to earn money. That was the idea behind having both Travel and Internet Marketing forums because that is one of the primary ways we earn a living... sorry if I failed to explain before... but I really appreciate the feedback!

Any forums you would add or delete?

I appreciate the feedback but yes, it is catered towards a specific group of people. Please google "digital nomad"

Also, I would really appreciate some feedback on adding or removing different forums, but based around the digital nomad concept and not just assumptions...

    Thanks!

If you start out I would create less threads. Try to channel all the post into less more general threads. This will make it easyer as you wont have that many posts in the beginning. It will also increase the sense of community since people will easily see the posts. Then ones you have a bigger community you can slowly expand so everyone knows what is where and is used to everything before new more specific threads are created. If you start visiting your site and you see alot of barely posted threads it will give the impression you dont have an active community. Also you could try and pay some people the first month to actively post on your forum maybe. But then again that is a whole different subject.

I have to say though I have no experience what so ever in creating a community. Im also a newbie in IM. Im just shooting some idea's, hope it helps

Great feedback and ideas! You may be a newbie but you make a great point and I'll look into narrowing down the threads in the beginning.

      Thanks!

I actually really like the layout and color scheme, and I'm as fussy as they come. The only thing I'd change is the number of categories. There are way too many.. Start off with just a handful and as your forum activity grows, so should your categories. A lot of these threads can be grouped together.

    Great job so far though!

Thanks Kate! Appreciate the feedback and support!

Any thoughts on which categories should be grouped together? I was thinking about narrowing down the internet marketing section to just one forum for the beginning...

In the first section, I would create one category "General Discussion" and place "Introductions", etc underneath that as sub-categories (child forums). Would take up less space while still retaining those categories so it remains organized.

Also, a few of the categories in the first block could perhaps be hidden (rather than removed) until your forum gets active. Then enable those, because right now, there are way too many categories with 1 or 0 posts, and it's not all that inviting to people dropping by.. Need to slim it down and make it look "busy" to get people subscribing.

In the second section, again some of those categories could be placed as "sub-categories" under the general "Make Money Discussion" thread. If you want a clean, organized forum without having to delete a ton of categories, just make them sub cats for now.. it's what I've always done and that way, it caters to everyone without the forums main page looking bare.

Great job so far though, so keep at it! :-)

    Kate
