I need some serious help, i need to upload a video on my website, its about 500MB, problem is I'm using wordpress....

So my question is-

1. is there anyway for me to upload it?
2. if not will i need to build a simple webpage with frontpage or similar?
3. can i put a link on my wordpress site to another hosting site that will host the full 500MB?

Appreciate your help in advance...........really stuck here!!

I recommend uploading your video to ezs3.com and then using some javascript you can embed the video on your wordpress blog, website etc. Nice, easy and your video will always load nicely and not give you load issues.
    Hope this helps.

Wow. Is there anyway to make the file smaller? 500MB is huge. If you have to host the whole thing, I'd look into using Amazon Web Services. You'll pay for data usage, but it's pretty inexpensive - and they have fast servers.

If you're trying to host a 500MB file on shared hosting and it get's watched/downloaded more than a few times, they'll shut your account down.

why dont you use youtube, if you don't have extensive traffic?

Host it on youtube, copy the codes on wordpress.

That might be the simplest solution unless you need to protect the videos.

    Thanks

Amazon is fine with that - just saying that a normal hosting company wouldn't be.

The site that pilaruk recommends uses the same Amazon service I recommended - just makes it more manageable.

The thing about having someone watch video is that they ARE downloading it when they watch it. In other words, you still have to transfer all that data to their computer for them to be able to watch the video.

How long is the video? 500MB sounds giant and unnecessary...

thanks for that, as you can tell im still a newbie..........yeah the video is 500MB which is 1 hr long, most my vids are about that and the 1.gb range, i thought that was normal?

do you know of any other way of hosting the video without costing money or for minimum cost? trying to keep costs down
