HELP!! Webhosting recommendations?

I know this topic must be one of the most discussed ever in the web world so I apologize in advance for the question...

I've got a few sites with Godaddy and their marketing is as good as they are bad (TERRIBLE shall I say) with the hosting itself...I've been battling with them non-stop for the last couple of months and I've had more than enough

Any decent webhosting recommendations?

Fairly simple needs - static/WP sites, one account with unlimited domains hosting and bandwidth..nothing too extravagant

Thank you!

  • Hostgator, or BlueHost if all you need is a simple set-up. For HostGator, stick with the smaller plans to start (I used to make the mistake of setting up Reseller Hosting accounts thinking that I needed them when a baby plan does the trick, and comes with "unlimited" bandwidth).

I also have an account with BlueHost and am happy so far (plus, you can get a free domain and unlike some other providers, you can actually keep the domain without keeping the hosting in the event you aren't satisfied)..

    • I use webhostingpad, very reliable, and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Plus it comes with unlimited hosting for unlimited sites, so that you can grow your business, and not have to spend more money. They use cPanel, so its easy on the backend.

    • agreed with this
  • IX web hosting is pretty good. It's the only web host I know that provides personalized customer service, that is, a customer rep is assigned to your account. Their package includes 3 free domains, free blog and web builder among other perks. Best of all, it includes private IP addresses- up to 3 depending on the plan you choose. Private IP addresses are very helpful for search engine ranking.

    Good luck!
  • I've written a review on the TOP 3 Best Web Hosts under the hosting category on my site. Incudes "Coupons" as well.

Seems Godaddy is getting some bad reviews

The host i use are excellent and a major brand name in hosting. They also offer heaps of great freebies

    • Good question, and yes this has been a major problem for a lot of people.

I started out with Hostgator a couple of years ago, got shut down due to overloading their system. I transferred over to Servint VPS and had major problems with them after 4 weeks.

Then transferred over to LiquidWeb "Storm on Demand" and we/they couldn't get me up an running without me overloading their system. Spent close to $200 the first 2 months trying to get it stabilized. Needless to say, I left them...

Well, guess what...went back to Hostgator, got a reseller account and everything is now hunkydory.

      The End!

      It's all good...

  • Bluehost is the Best...
  • I am using Justhost. It is simple and reliable. Unlimited bandwith and storage. And you get 1 domain free. Best thing is, there is a way to get a discount. Just 32USD for 2 years!
  • I prefer godaddy.com
  • Hosgator !
  • Here's a little secret I found out when researching new host a year ago - HostMonster is a subdivision of BlueHost. If you look at the contact page - the address is the same. The plans and features are exactly the same, but, hostmonster is a buck a month cheaper!

I have been very happy with hostmonster.
  • I am pretty happy with Offshore seo vps. Very good service as promised! No big issue yet.
  • You should check out bluehost or dreamhost, they have good services and good prices as well. I'd stay away from hostgator, they have disappointed too many of their clients lately.
