Please review namethatframe.com and let me know what you think. It is hosted by GoDaddy on a 4GH server. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Doesn't seem to be slow. The homepage took some time to load completely due to heavy files in the slider.

The first load took me 30-40 seconds then once it loaded the first time, it loaded more quickly after that. But that first 30 seconds would kill your client base.

So... I'm guessing your problem is your gallery. Try killing the gallery page and see if it loads quicker. I noted that the jpg's are huge and you don't want them that huge. Use a jpg compressor/editor and get them down to under 200k each, 100k if you can. They don't need to be the size of 3 x 21" screens. Make the maximum size about 600-800pixels high. Try something like that and once you get all the gallery pix down to a more reasonable size then maybe your site will load faster.

If that's not it, then it must have something to do with your server and I'd ask them about it. But I think it's the gallery photos slowing up the site.

Thanks for your advice. I made the opening gallery image very small hoping that it would load faster. Does the size of the first image matter or does the system load all images before opening? Thanks.

I'm not sure how Wordpress works so I'm giving this advice as if it were just any web site on a server.

Even if the images do not all load upon arriving at your home page, and so that is maybe not what is causing your site to load slowly, still, you want to make them smaller in both file size and in display size, and you want to make the maximum size to be fit the size of an average size, - just big enough to see it well, but not so big you have to use horizontal or vertical sliders to see the whole thing.

I also think it's always a good idea to use a good jpg compressor (I use advancedjpgcompressor even though it's a bit klunky) to make ALL your images - graphics on the site and any slide show type images - smaller in file size. You want your clients to be able to see them well but they don't need to be high def. You can of course always make the high def images available in links.

Looks like you're running on WordPress with a few plugins. WordPress tends to require a lot of separate external files. Right now you're loading about 30 separate files the first time your site loads. The gallery loads Flash which is a bit heavier. If you're comfortable doing so, you could try to consolidate all of your external js files into one. You caould also try using sprites for your images so that you only load one image.

Your theme uses 3 stylesheets and 3 .js files. Those could pretty easily be cut down to 2 files.

Really loading faster when compared to most of the sites with same type of layout, I mean the graphics. May be you might have changed the page meanwhile?
