Displaying 10000 images on a website

Hi,

My friend needs to upload around 10k images to his webserver and then use them on his website. Obviously it won't be easy to ypload them however it is the displaying part that made him come to me and ask for help. It would be impossible to add the images one by one to a photo gallery or something.

So I decided to come here and as warriors if they have any solution for this problem. Our best bet would be to have some sort of script (or plugin) that could just detect the imag files in a certain folder and add them automatically to the given page/thread/etc.

    Another option might be to load them into a Flickr or other photo site account and place the banner code on your friend's site. It's a lot of images, so you'd probably need to buy an account to house that many. You'd still have the burden of uploading them individually, however.

    Just an idea.

      I think it would be humanly impossible to upload 10k images to Flicker. We'll have to find a less labour intensive solution.

    You'll need to get all of the image file names into a database then display them using scripting. Without knowing requirements ( which images on what page, according to what criteria, etc.) it's practically impossible to guide you in structuring the script or the database tables for that matter.
