Retail Wordpress Issues

I will be changing my plaquemaster.com site to a retail wordpress site. I have found some good themes, but I am not sure if they can do what I want.

In my current site customers can choose the plaqueboard, the background, and the text for the plaque, and the cold fusion site "builds" the plaque and shows them what it will look like:

http://www.plaquemaster.com/plaque-d...nniversary.cfm (click continue to get to the plaque building page)

How can I recreate this in a wordpress site?

I'm getting some kind of fatal error on that link, but when you approach it from the root domain it works fine.

This does seem kind of tricky to integrate in Wordpress , mainly because of the multi-stage process where you take steps to finally create the sample plaque.

Maybe something like this can be done with either an iFrame setup or a rewrite of the entire script.. don't know much about scripting though.

Anyway, your site definitely could use a fresh look, as it seems it hasn't been updated since 2003 (counter in the footer on homepage)

    Hi Joel,

You'd normally get a developer to create a Wordpress Plugin to provide this functionality. Not sure how much you know about Wordpress, but a Plugin usually extends the functionality of the core Wordpress site, and typically works in conjunction with your Wordpress Theme (so you could still go ahead and use a good theme, and then have a plugin created for the specific plaqueboard functionality).

You may be able to find a similar plugin to do what you need, perhaps with some code amending - the Wordpress Plugin directory at WordPress › WordPress Plugins is usually a good starting point.

I believe it can be done using wordpress. The left and below menus can be put in widgets. Then the content is a Html code. Just an additional plug ins and your site will run as what you want. An advantage in Wordpress you can choose in many different themes to improve your site.
