Wordpress stripping out all html from page!!!

I have a wordpress site that I am working on.

The theme is lotus from themeforest.

So when I make a post with video, the video does not show up on the homepage, all the content does but no video, if I go to the actual post, that page does shows everything right.

I received the following response from the author of the theme

"..Basically the blog page strips out all HTML to prevent unclosed HTML tags that why your video won't show up..."

What suggestions can you warriors give me?

Thank you for your time.

  • Use wordpress video plugin

  • You can also deactivate the Visual view or use the Raw-HTML plugin, which will get you around the WordPress HTML filters (and that will help in any other situations you need to use HTML). I reviewed Raw-HTML here:

    • Thanks for the post, but I did downlaod the plug in , activated it included the video code in between <!–start_raw–> <!–end_raw–> tags, but I still get the same thing.

Again, video does show on actual page, but not homepage.
  • Frankly i would have a look for a better theme and more importantly, the best wordpress framework

I have many videos in my blog posts and an entire library of wordpress video tutorials on my site.

Not sure your theme and framework are up to scratch

I only use the best wordpress framework which is regarded as ultra premium and highly flexible.
  • This is a well known bug and or issue with the editor, likely it has nothing to do with your theme, Visual editor is stripping out html line break and paragraph tags « WordPress.com Forums

There are a couple of good alternatives, meaning you should get a new editor, if your interested pm me and I will give you a link to pick up a good editor, (free)
  • Yes that is a problem with Wordpress. Here are 2 tips that may work out for you:-
    1. Try out both iFrame code of a Youtube video and the older version code. See if any of them works
    2. Leave the video to add it in the last. When you're done writing the content. Switch to HTML mode and paste the code. DO NOT Switch back to Visual again as it will strip out the code again.

Do tell me if any of it works?

    • I want to make video posts that show on the homepage, they will testimonials and videos of completed jobs, etc.

Author just replied to me that I need to find someone to modify my blog.php code

There is not really your typical homepage, the theme has a custom menu where you drag the pages you want together and it populates a homepage from your selections. I want to use the homepage as your typical website but with an incorporated video blog all on the same homepage. I believe what your suggesting is just add to the bottom of lets say the columns page with the all the paint roller icons? Not sure if that would display either, but would like better as individual posts as that would create a bigger site with more seo optimized pages/posts. If I add it to the exsisting page that is displaying the current content, all I am doing is continuously changing one page. Forgive me if I didn't understand what you meant.

As for any on page SEO, I haven't started anything on that yet, just trying to get the structure of the site put together, not letting robots even enter yet.

Did try #1 already, will try your #2 as well.
