Hi guys, i have a wordpress website, running the genesis theme, and i am trying to place clickbank and amazon affiliate products on it.

I went to create a new page, for stricly products, tried to take an amazon code, and paste it into the page HTML code view, and it will not show the banner like amazon does, only shows the code, no links, i also did it on the regular edit view, same results.... I have seen some wordpress sites that do have what i am wanting to do, done on them. Just cannot figure it out myself, can anyone give me the actual way to do it?

Thank you for your time...

Maybe you could set up a test page? Post a link here and we'll take a look at it.

Are you running Wordpress.com or .org. Wordpress.com doesn't care for affiliate links directly to be put on the wordpress platform, plus the codex you are imputing might have flash or other incorporated codex's inside your html code that wordpress doesn't support. (be sure it's raw html) I would suggest linking to a self hosted optin page that way you don't get dinging by search engines and codex issues. Hosting your own optin page is as simple as hosting a separate subdomain folder under your primary domain page. (Example..www.subfolder.yourdomain.com)

there is a html and visual view, make sure you have html selected. If you have visual selected then it will cause only the code to be displayed

I was thinking if it (the Amazon code) was in PHP then he might need the exec-php plugin to parse it.

I believe you have to insert the Amazon code right in the Theme editor. Find the page where you want the code to appear and paste in the script. It must be ahead of the closing tag for the theme php code.

I'd suggest copying the page before you mess with it. Save it in Notepad so you can put it back if you screw up.

Your theme has many pages, so you'll have to look in the theme editor to see what's what.

Barring that, you could always create a text widget and try putting the code there. I think I did it that way before.

When putting up affiliate banners on my self hosted wordpress sites, I extract the banner image url and add that as an image to my wordpress post or page and then I take the actual affiliate link from the banner code and link the image to that.
