Using re-direct pages to prevent affiliate hoplink stealing

Hi

On each of my webstites, I have created a re-direct page that points to my clickbank hoplink.

This way, anyone wanting to steal my hoplink from my landing page, they won't be able to see what it is.

Is this sufficient or do I need to use appropriate software to cloak my link?

Also, once someone has your hoplink, and then you decide to employ measures to cloak it, is it too late, as it has now been "stolen"?

Thanks.

While affilate commissions do get stolen it isn't something you should worry about, the chance of it happening are low especially if you only just getting started.

A hacker is much more likely to try and tap into the big affiliates as stealing their commissions is going to make them richer than going after average Joe on clickbank.

Hope that helps put your mind at rest.

Ummm, people don't "steal" your hoplink. If that were the case, I'd sure as hell have a whole site up filled with a hoplink for every CB product they have. People could steal them to their heart's content

The idea of 'cloaking' a hoplink is to hopefully keep the visitor unaware that this is actually an affiliate link until it is too late. Too late, at least, for normal people. For abnormal people, it's never too late. They just clear their cookies, clear the browser cache, restart the computer, then substitute their own CB id for yours. When that happens, of course, you lose credit for the sale and thus the commission.

How about (cookie stuffing) and how does your reply cover the use of robots to do this. This is a serious problem especially for new users. I think you have seriously underestimated the situation.
