Professional affiliate sidebar

I'm new at using Wordpress and I've chosen the Atahualpa theme. I'm wanting to create a professional looking sidebar with my affiliate ads. Is there a plugin or is this manually done. I want a clean look that look's like each ad was intentionally placed. Any suggestions?

Well the base design of your sidebar is defined by your theme, so if you want to change the look probably you need to choose another theme or else you will have a lot of work changing your sidebars look.

Also if you just want to add banners and other such things you can do it via the Wordpress Administration Panel, APPEARANCE / Widgets section.

Here you can use for example the TEXT widget to add a banner. Just drag the widget where you want ad drop it. Edit it, paste your banner code and save it

Can you show some example of what you want - if you want something like my blog then do let me know - infogle.com/blog

there are few plugins which can make this happen...

      hey there,
could you advice me on what to do too? I want something that looks sleek and wraps around the edge of the banner without leaving a white gap that can be seen at my site.

Yea, the affiliate programs on your blog, look nice and clean. I'm still in the process of migrating my blog to wordpress (ourfoursquare.com), so I don't have all the posting, etc up but I want to get started right. I would be very appreciative if you can share with me the plugins that you use.

  • That's why I use Gazette Edition by Woothemes. All of that is already built-in, so all I have to do is copy and paste image and link locations, and then my Adsense code. It's perfect for affiliate marketing.

If you really like the Atahualpa theme, though, then I would follow @dassad's advice and use the Text widget.

There is nothing wrong with putting a flag on a list. Maybe he wants to put other things on the list below. Sidebars are almost always ready, for reasons of style and comfort. Affiliate programs make the backwards value of linking explicit and thus compensate sites for contributing to a more cross-linked Web.
