Wordpress: Allow registered users to post, but hide old posts

Hi.

Is it possible with wordpress to allow new user registration and allow users to make new posts, but without the ability to edit/see old posts in their dashboard?

What I would ideally want is a blank canvas for their dashboard, but when they post for their post to be shown there and for them to make new posts, but not for mine or anyone else's posts to be shown in their dashboard?

Hope I'm getting my point across OK?

Joe

It is built-in... You just need to read about it: Roles and capabilities.

If the default level for new registrants is "Contributor" - they can make new posts, edit their own post and that's it.

    Thanks Istvan.

When I log in as a contributor and go to posts, I can see ALL posts made regardless of who made them - that's not to say I can edit them (because I can't).

Is there a way for users to only see posts made by themselves in the backend.

Maybe I am missing something... but why does it matter they see them if they cannot edit the posts anyway?

Hello, i think that this will help you out i used it on a multiuser wp back few months but probably that works with wordpress's current version to. Lists and allows to manage only posts created by the current logged in user. Just upload and activate :p

Istvan, usually this wouldn't be necessary I know. However, I am working on a website for a car trader to showcase his cars. I would like to add the functionality for other traders to add their cars to this site also. I do not want each trader to know who uploaded each car, and I want them to be able to edit their adverts posts easily etc without having to go through all the old posts because they will soon add up.

Dassad - thank you very much. Going to give it a go now and report back
