Creating custom Youtube layouts?

I've only been able to find information on creating custom youtube backgrounds. Can anyone point me to any links/tutorials/information on creating custom youtube buttons and "skins"? I read somewhere that you had to be a "youtube partner" but that link was from 2009, does anyone have any current information on that?

    • You can make very nice youtube backgrounds. If you are partner you can customize them more but it's not neccesary.

      Edit: Ah sorry. I'm tired. I saw you don't need background but custom buttons and stuff. Yeah you need to be a youtube partner for that.
