  • Either there is still a cache somewhere that you haven't refreshed - what software are you using? - or you haven't been saving stuff in the right way - which is doubtful.

Set up a test page that is outside of any software you have installed and try altering that. If it shows the alterations as soon as you make them then there is must be a cache somewhere that you will need to empty/refresh whenever you alter the files.
  • Are you using Cpanel with some kind of sitebuilder software?

If I understand you, it sounds like it. Or I don't understand what you're changing in Cpanel.

Ever had WP there before? WP does things beyond my comprehension to your .htaccess file.

If your host won't help you, change to Hostgator, they will help.

    • Rusty,

I am changing a line of text on my site.
I am with godaddy and I click on "legacy file manager" like I have many times before.

I have triple checked and am defineatly changing the index page of the site

It is a html site. I tried to edit another site and same thing.

I added a new post to a WP site and that was fine.

  • Use a proxy to see if your site has updated via another IP

  • Are you guys submitting tickets to HostGator but aren't actually HostGator clients? I was just wondering. Its your choice, but you should definitely transfer hosts if you have to contact a different hosting provider just to get support.

I run a WordPress Focused Hosting company and a lot of my clients come from other hosts because they had to find me to help them with their websites because their hosts were too slow on support times. You shouldn't pay a hosting company that won't support you, transfer your site to the host that does pay attention to you. Most hosts are willing to transfer your files for you. I know my hosting company will do that.
