Moving Text Box Script/Code

by macostello 4 replies
Hi All,

I am working on website that has quite a long list of products to describe. The template that I am using has the page split into two in that the description goes on one side and on the other, it allows for any other test I wish to put in it such as video, opt-in forms etc.

I have decided to use it as the 'buy now' section but want to get this side of the page to move down as the customer is scrolling down so that it is always in their view.

Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

Many thanks,

This will only work in firefox and you will need some heavy duty code for it to work properly. You will have to rewrite the current text box divs and set them up separately from the theme or template. Which basically means youd better off building your theme from scratch. Otherwise you will be forced to revamp a lot of code to seperate the text boxes from the template or theme.

    Hey guys,

Thank you! I didn't know that it only worked in Firefox so that's an education and something new learnt for today!

What would someone see if they were viewing a page with this script on through Explorer or Chrome?

@james: its true. it would be a huge amount of work, when he wants to code such a function from scratch, however, I think, there should be a jquery plugin taking care for all this.

@macostello: you might want to check out this plugin - not sure if its what you are looking for, but u might want to give it a try!

This should also work in IE, chrome and other browsers.
