Real simple question ,should I get it or shouldn't I?
I've heard a lot pros and cons about it.
What do you think?

If you need a fast, efficient site builder with quite a few bells and whistles and a fast learning curve, xsp is the real deal.

If you know dreamweaver, joomla, etc or only use blogs, you don't need it.

              Here's what I think ...

If I need a complex design, custom programming, etc ... I use Dreamweaver.

If I want to build a quick website, content site, mini-site, etc ... XSitePro does it better and quicker.

Depends on what you need it for.

It is great for sales letters, affiliate sites, mini sites and lead gen etc...

Create sites in different styles and use the built in functions for easy custmization and multi media.

                I like it.

I couldn't make heads or tails from Dreamweaver. I bought XSP
and in about a week I was using it with ease. (I'm not all that
technical). I bought it through another Warrior. I don't think I
can mention his name here but he includes a book of shortcuts
and cheats. He's from Australia. Look around the forum, he's
easy to find here and straight as an arrow.

Not to belabor this BUT, I learned something else that
has made me a bunch of money. It was about affiliate
sales. I could have bought this software anywhere but
I didn't. Why? I was awake one night trying to figure out
how to improve my miserable hit and miss affilate sales
record when it suddenly occured to me that i already
had the answer. Provide a genuine value that nobody else
has done. Not some downloaded freebie junk but REAL, can't
get along without it, VALUE! Become KNOWN as someone
who does more, gives more, REAL VALUE and you won't
ever have to worry about the rent again. I promise.

I hadn't heard of XSitePro before joining the WF. I have DreamWeaver, but use FrontPage almost exclusively. I was pretty excited by the content of the video on XSitePro's website. Can you fill me in on how you find it limiting before I drop $179.00 on it?

I do web design for money, so I'm used to using all the little tricks and java scripts etc. It's more fiddly doing these with XSP.

I would never try to put someone off buying this, especially if they are not designers, but you need to know it has issues.

When I first bought it I was ready to ask for my money back - it had loads of issues, and there was an update just about every day.

Hundreds of questions and issues were being posted on their forum. There are still questions and issues, but not to the extent there was before.

I found XSP to have the shortest learning curve of all other designer programs, but that may not be the case for others. (But from the posts on the XSP forum, some people had major issues learning it - it really is an individual thing.)

Things like navigation are really easy to do. And you can make it so that no one else can ever have the same navigation as you, just by making little tweaks to the formats provided.

The thing I really love about it is the way it helps you monetize your site. You literally add your affiliate details to the database once, then with the click of a button, it adds them automatically each time you create a new site. And you can have variations of that for each site - I do.

You're probably wondering why, so I'll tell you - I totally own practically every site I have, but for one site I invited a friend to help me out since I don't have the skills required for that particular site. We have separate Clickbank and PayPal accounts that are specific to that site.

So when I'm working on a site, I am presented with a selection of accounts.

Overall it's good. I use XSP to create sites way more than any other program these days. I can have a site up and running within a couple of hours with XSP, but with Front Page (for instance) it will be 2-3 days.

And with FP the side panels are unstable. With XSP they are perfect.

I still have issues with tables on XSP, but I'm sure it's something I'm doing. Other people don't seem to have the issues I'm having. If I go to the forum and ask, I'm sure someone will be able to help me out - they're pretty good like that.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

I bought XSite Pro 2 when it first came out, and while it had some bugs at first, they've generally straightened things out quickly with updates. It's definitely useful if you want to get a site done and uploaded fast.

You can do either. That said, I've never done a 'site' via WordPress but will be shortly. A friend is setting it up - we're partners in the site.

I bought XSP in June. I had never used it before, and had only used Front Page.

I spent around six hours playing with XSP, then created my first site. You can see it here if you want: Romance Spinners - Home

I've since made many sites, but I do find it has limitations. I mostly use XSP now, but occassionally use FP - it depends on what I need to do.

I do find it tedious with some things. For instance, if I want to add html code (for an autoresponder for example), you can't just ctrl Q or similar, which is what I did with FP. I have to mark the spot in design mode, then go into 'code' and add it where the mark is.

That royally p.......s me off. I can't find any way to short cut this, so if anyone here knows, please tell me!

It's stuff like that I don't like, but on the whole I do like it.

If you want something that will let you create sites quickly and without a lot of technical knowledge, XSP will do that.

I'm happy to post more examples of sites if anyone is interested.

I think you're only limited by your imagination. As I said earlier, you can make tweaks that will change the entire look of the site.

Same goes for the navigation, although I admit that I mostly use dynamic navigation in my sites.

I also never use their base sites, especially headers. It's very simple to create your own sites from scratch, once you understand the basics of XSP.

Sitepro2 looks interesting and I guess dreamweaver is good, but not everyone has the cash and there is definitely a learning curve----Front page--I don't think so--is that stiill around??

Let me suggest "tswwebcoder" tsware.net and check the blog--look at the videos especially in the blog --start at the newest one and go backwards. Has some great features in the 2009 version--still a learning curve though.

Something more simple and sitepro2 ish and wysiwyg too. also outputs clean html/xhtml code--not frontpage code-I hope it had gotten better--I think it has

google " dynamic html editor " first one hexagoradotcom. check it out 30 day fully functioning free trial and also a limited free version if per chance you decide you can't ot don't want to buy--great support there and the owner is always upgrading and adding on features.

I will never post an affiliate link it this forum--this is just stuff I have used and found to be the very best there is..I make no money..

Front Page cannot be purchased, but if you have it then there's nothing stopping you from using it.

The new 'version' of FP is Expression Web. I've bought a copy but can't work out how to use the darned thing. I'm waiting for my local college to run a course, which they've said they'll be doing this year.

The blurb on Expression Web was you can import files from FP and convert them. It doesn't work, the files go pear-shaped.

Hence the reason I am using XSP and also FP. Once I know how to use EW, I will somehow get them working in that program.

XSP also doesn't allow you to import from FP, but you can export into FP. Not much help.

Even with the few issues it has, I would definitely recommend XSP. From memory there is a 30 day guarantee, so if you don't like it, you'll get your money back.

Dynamic HTML Editor: WYSIWYG Web Editor (html editor) (html editor) has an import feature where it imports a complete website and allows it to be edited in DHE. It works pretty good. Try dhe if you get a chance. To see how it works. The quickest way is to open up one of the templates that comes with it and start playing.

DHE can run off a flash drive. You need to edit dhe sites with dhe unless you convert the site to something else--like a cms

I have been waiting for the latest release of DHE. David, the developer, added in the ability to save all the css in a file and link to it in a normal way. It used to have inline css and was a problem when implimenting it with a cms where the css file is linked in the head. I can't see any reason not to use a cms..even though editing a site with dhe is really simple and automatic>edit>export>publish>done...

I remember sitepro from years back. it looked good then and still does. If I wanted to churn out a lot of sites I would grab it.

Expression Web supports php as well. I want to get into it, but don't have time to spend trying to teach myself. (Despite what everyone was told, EW is totally different to FP. )

I did buy a 'step by step' book, but haven't had a chance to do that either. I much prefer the hands-on courses my local college teaches. I come away from those with good knowledge - I learned FP that way too.

Don't even begin to try and learn expression web with a book. It's too complex IMO. I have an excellent video tutorial. I think it is from 'total training' and it sets you back almost $200 if I remember correctly.

I use and like XSP, it is great and geared towards mini sites.

Building a mini site with expression is like using a chainsaw to remove a splinter.

Ah yes, I have seen the ads for total training, and wondered if they were worth the money. Sounds like they are.

The college training - when it's available will cost at least $300, so very comparable price for the videos.

XSitePro 2 has dynamic navigation menus if you
are keen to have rollovers with effects etc....

(Although people recommend text links for SEO)

Also you can have almost any look if you get
a skin designed by a designer (which I do a lot).

You would never pick it as an xsitepro site if
      you modify it.
