Above or Below the fold?

1- I have been hired to rank 2 photographers web sites. They love putting photos all over the place. Is it fine to have the thumbnails above the fold and the content "text" mainly below the fold?

2- What is the best practice for putting the keyword in the photos:
- putting the keyword in the title and alt tags?
- or putting the keyword only in the alt tag?

3- If I have 20 thumbnail images on one page should I put the keyword in all the photos or would this look like keyword stuffing?

Thanks

    • Thank you. The reason I asked about above or below the fold is for SEO purposes. I thought maybe Google would like to have the Title and content 'text' before the photos.

  • I would use alternate keywords for photos to avoid keyword stuffing. As for placement, I had 1 sales page made entirely off images and I was able to rank it so it appears you won't necessarily need the text.

    • so if a page has 20 thumbnail images you wouldn't put the main keyword in all Alt tags? or would you?
