Themes do NOT protect any website!

Themes display the content - that's all.

Look up the following plugins to enhance WordPress security (all are free):
    Block Bad Queries (BBQ)
    Secure WordPress
    WordPress Firewall
    WP-DBManager

The best way to protect you site is to include full site backup every day which you keep on your own PC. Backing up your databases does very little as most of your content is in the files.

Full backup protects you from everything.

      Since when?

Last time I checked ALL the content (posts, Pages, comments, settings) were in the database... and "in the files" you have only your theme, the plugins and uploaded media, if any.

Back up your database if you think that's the case and don't backup your files.

The fact is most bloggers backup their database if they backup at all and don't backup their files on a daily basis.

          And why should they?

If you don't add (upload) new media or don't add new plugin/themes - you do NOT need to backup your files.

Care to explain why one should backup files like the core WP engine that always can be downloaded from the WP site?
